What data we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have over your journal, artifacts, and account.
Effective date: 2026-08-09MetaopAI is an AI-powered personal journal with signal intelligence. It helps you narrate what happens in your life, examine those narrations from multiple analytical angles, and surface patterns over time. This policy explains what personal information MetaopAI collects when you use the product, how we use that information, and the choices you have.
MetaopAI is operated by MetaopAI ("we," "us," "our"). This policy applies to metaop.ai, app.metaop.ai, and the MetaopAI iOS and Android applications. By using MetaopAI you accept the practices described here.
We collect only what is necessary to operate the product for you:
MetaopAI is a personal journaling tool. When you write about other people — coworkers, family, friends, romantic partners — those references are stored inside your own workspace. Those individuals are not required to have accounts on MetaopAI, and MetaopAI does not share, index, publish, or surface your notes about them to anyone outside your workspace.
We do not solicit third-party data outside your own use of the product, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising or general model training. You are responsible for how you use MetaopAI in relation to other people, and what you write about others should follow the same expectations that apply to any private journal.
We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising against your journal content. We do not use your journal content to train third-party foundation models.
MetaopAI supports connecting your own cloud storage — for example Google Drive, Dropbox, or iCloud — for the artifacts you attach to Notes. When connected, MetaopAI creates a dedicated folder inside your storage provider and works within it. The underlying files remain in your possession, under your provider account. If you disconnect MetaopAI or close your account, those artifacts stay with you.
MetaopAI retains the contextual interpretation of your material (needed for the product to reason across your Spaces) separately from the raw artifact.
We retain your account and journal content until you delete them. You can delete individual journals, notes, entities, or spaces at any time. You can also request full account deletion, which removes the MetaopAI-held context tied to that account. Artifacts stored through Bring Your Own Storage remain in your storage provider unless you remove them there.
We may retain limited billing and audit records for the periods required by law after account deletion.
MetaopAI relies on a small number of third-party services to operate:
Each of these providers operates under its own privacy terms. We share only what is required for that service to do its job.
MetaopAI is not directed at children under 13. Consistent with App Store rules, users must be at least 13 years old. Because the product is designed for reflection on relationships, work, and other adult contexts, we recommend it for users 18 and older to make full use of its feature set. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you inside the product or by email before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top reflects the current version.
